Mike was born in St Helens, Merseyside and started his career at a small life insurance brokerage after leaving school.
At the age of twenty he moved to Liverpool to work for Norwich Union where he spent seven years working in various departments, including Life Assurance, Mortgages and Corporate Pensions.
Whilst at Norwich Union he passed the Financial Planning Certificate.
In 1997 Mike accepted a job offer from Marsh Financial Services here on the Isle of Man where he spent the next five years working as an independent financial adviser, offering advice on life assurance, pensions and investments to local residents.
Mike also took on the role of Employee Benefits adviser at Marsh, offering advice to local employers and employees with regards to their staff benefit packages. This was a role he greatly enjoyed and which encompassed clients ranging from large multi nationals and even the Isle of Man Government.
As one of the founding directors of Island Financial Solutions, Mike is passionate about giving the best possible advice to his clients, and understands that service is something more than just a buzzword. He believes that these principles, with an emphasis on client satisfaction, are the reasons why clients come to see us.
Mike is an avaricious reader, a published author and enjoys most sports, although these days it is more watching than playing! He is currently chairman of the Isle of Man Insurance Brokers Association and on the council of the local Chartered Insurance Institute.
